Congratulations to all the 8th grade students and teachers at Mother of Good Counsel for another year of excellence in education. WKCE test results indicate that our 2008 MGC 8th graders scored higher than the State of WI, MPS, and the Wauwatosa Schools in the highest levels (Advanced and Proficient) of all areas; Reading, Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies. Just another reason we are PROUD TO BE MGC!

Good Counsel School Website! For over 80 years, Mother of Good Counsel
School has offered quality education and moral development to the children of
its northwest Milwaukee neighborhood and beyond. From humble beginnings in a
frame bungalow, MGC has grown to be a rock of stability - a Catholic school
where traditional Christian values are still embraced and ingrained. I invite

Mission Statement
Mother of Good Counsel School is a welcoming, diverse Catholic
Christian community. We strive to provide a quality educational
environment in which each student is guided towards the development of
his or her greatest intellectual, creative and moral potential. We
commit ourselves to be nurturing a strong love of Jesus and His word,
recognition of God-given talents, and a sense of personal
responsibility. We commit ourselves to be an anchor of stability in our
neighborhood and beyond through a supportive community committed to the
Catholic/Christian values of word, worship, and service.
Academic Philosophy
Mother of Good Counsel School maintains a strong commitment to quality
in education. All staff are highly qualified and fully certified.
Student progress is measured in various ways, including: traditional
report cards, mid-term reports, standardized tests, parent-teacher
conferences, and regular communication between the school and home. In
our culturally diverse school, we strive to meet the needs of all
children in an effort to heighten each child's ability to make valued
decisions and choices that will lead to success.
