What is AR? Accelerated Reader is a program where students read books independently at their own reading level. After reading each book the student logs into Renaissance Place and takes a comprehension test for that book. This is part of the reading curriculum at MGC. Each student reads to reach the goal his/her teacher has set for him/her.

Remember when looking up books that the book level reflects the readability, not the content level. Book levels with low reading levels that are worth many points are usually meant for older readers.
