World Book Online

This reference site from World Book contains articles from the print encyclopedia plus information on current events. Also available are research libraries which give you access to primary source documents. If you have forgotten the login information please contact the Library Media Specialist.

BadgerLink

This web site provides free resources to Wisconsin residents. These resources include EBSCO, Kids Search, Student Research Center, Searchasaurus, ProQuest, LitFinder, TeachingBooks. Access to articles from journals, magazines, and newspapers are found at EBSCO and ProQuest. If your ISP (Internet Service Provider) is not registered you may access this information by using your library card. Details are linked on the right side of the page.

Catholic Encyclopedia

This online encyclopedia offers information on Catholic topics. Letters, speeches, and books from the earliest Christians and the theology of St. Thomas Aquinas are also listed on this site.

This shares maps, exhibitions, timelines and much more from various museums, libraries, and archives.

Enchanted Learning

This reference site offers information and tips on many different topics. It also offers activities for younger students 

Wisconsin Historical Society

This reference site offers information about the history of Wisconsin. You may search for people, places and things related to the state.

Fact Monster

This site provides online atlases, almanacs, dictionaries, and sections on different subject areas. It is sponsored by Information Please.

Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary

This site offers a free online dictionary and thesaurus. As you get the results of your search, you may hear an audio pronunciation of the word. There is a word of the day, word games and Word for the Wise, a radio show that discusses the English language. Other services are offered but are not free.

Word Central

This on-line dictionary sponsored by Merriam-Webster also has various other options besides looking up words. After entering the hallway many opportunities are present. Create poems in the music room. In the cafeteria listen to the pronunciation of a word, read a definition and example sentence, there is a single question quiz about the word. There are some games that can be played on the second level.
